Isi Life Mein

I think Isi life mein is great story revolving around the current generation. I would rate this movie an 8/10. The direction was good, the story line was cute, romantic but at the same time had strong messages for the public. It's focus on finding the correct balance between traditional values and the modern culture was well shown. It also sends a strong message on the dowry situation still prevailing in certain places in India. Sandeepa and Akshay did a good job. Considering that it is their first movie, they were amazing. (10/10)

Story
The story is about a small town girl, Rajnandini, who is raised in a very traditional family and Vivaan, who grew up in Mumbai. Rajnandini passes her 12th class examination and is the state-topper and wants to study further. But she accepts her fate and is happy to follow her father's conservative tastes and get married soon. But her mother supports her, and they manage to trick the father into sending her to Bombay to a relative's house in Bombay, on the pretense to learn cooking; however, secretly, her mother enrolled her in a college, and with the help of her aunt got her a hostel to stay.
At the college, she joins the College's Dramatics Society (DS), headed by Vivaan. When she introduces herself as Rajnandini Khandelwal, the others complain how her name is too "long" and Vivaan call her name to "RJ." For the rest of the movie, she is known as RJ. DS chooses to participate in a National Theatre Festival and William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew was chosen. But DS decided to alter its ending as few members feels that the hero is chauvinist. RJ is chosen to play the role of Kate after a few scenes. How the spotlight come to RJ was executed extremely well. Vivaan & RJ become good friends and RJ helps Vivaan to overcome his hostility towards his demanding father and come to a compromise. Vivaan encourages her to dream and explore different option in life and encourage her to  adopt the modern ideas.
On her birthday, her friends completely alter her appearance and style. In a plan to surprise her aunt about the new RJ , they go to her aunt's house, where, surprisingly her dad opened the door. He is enraged with RJ that she was out partying with her friends and takes her back to Ajmer, her hometown where her marriage was being fixed. Heart-broken, Vivaan decides to go to Ajmer with the entire DS, reaching RJ's home during the preparations for her engagement ceremony. Vivaan and friends helps the wedding family in all the way possible.
Vivaan explain the reasons of their visit to her father as how they were practicing for their play for the past 6 months and as it was a few days away, he requested if her father would allow her to perform in the play. RJ's father angrily rejects the request and denounces Vivaan and his friends as having no regards or respect for traditions.
However, as the day goes by, RJ's father is under increasing stress due to Groom family’s escalating financial demands. Vivaan learns about this situation and steps up to help by withdrawing money from his account and all his friends contribute. RJ’s father appreciate Vivaan and his friends for their help in meeting these expectations, coming to the realization that "one's own exploit and abuse while strangers aid and succor," so that, as RJ and the groom are to exchange vows, her father forbids her, breaks of the marriage and decides to allow RJ to resume her part in the play's production.
The play wins the 1st prize and everyone in RJ's and Vivaan's families are extremely happy. Vivaan’s father finally understands and accepts his passion for theatre. Later, Vivaan and RJ get engaged, and RJ is planning to leave for New York to develop her passion for choreography after which it is planned that they will get married.
